A Place in Time presents Love Songs and new photographic works by Phuc Le, accompanied by a special screening of Kiss of the Rabbit God by Andrew Thomas Huang, followed by a Q&A with the artists moderated by Jonathan Crisman. Plus, dance ‘til midnight at an after party organized by Jason Wong, featuring a DJ set by Howin Wong!

Le and Huang’s work both highlight the queer/gay Asian American male identity and respond to how their relationships with sexual intimacy have been shaped by the lack of visibility in their childhoods and today. Crisman’s Q&A with the artists will explore the dialogue between their works, themes and aesthetics.

A Place in Time is a confession and love letter to the queer Asian community.

Phuc Le is a photographic artist born in Vietnam (1985) and grew up in Orange County, he is currently living and making work in Los Angeles. Focusing on social structures and relationships that exist in his immediate reality, Le makes photographic prints utilizing a combination of analog and digital photography. @shaman.and.prophet

Andrew Thomas Huang is an experimental filmmaker with a background in puppetry, animation, live action performance and visual effects, Huang’s work bridges the gap between video art and film, expanding beyond into alternative modes of storytelling. @andrewthomashuang

Jonathan Crisman is Assistant Professor in Public and Applied Humanities at the University of Arizona. He is an artist and urban scholar whose work considers the intersections between culture, politics, and place. @jonathancrisman
